Dress Talk: Black & Gold

Black and gold has got to be one of the most glamorous color combinations, especially when it comes to evening gowns. This particular Octavio Carlin piece is centered around that color scheme, shades of colors that flatter any skin tone. But what makes this special occasion dress even more spectacular is the novelty fabric that adds texture and dimension. The entire evening gown is literally made up of swirls of fabric, creating a much richer and more luxurious finish to the dress. These are the details that Octavio Carlin is known for. He uses simple silhouettes but he gives you that WOW factor with his use of exquisite fabrics and subtle yet intricate details. This designer evening gown can be purchased at the Octavio Carlin Atelier located at 309 N. Kings Rd. Los Angeles, CA 90048.

The Stars Wear Octavio Carlin

Two of our clients dressed so beautifully in their custom-made dresses, designed by Octavio Carlin. Sharon Stone wore her white dress while hosting a Charity Event and Paris Hilton wore her princess-like yellow gown to her birthday celebration. Doesn't Paris' dress remind you of Belle's from Beauty and the Beast? She requested it to look like that! You look lovely, ladies!

When Butterfly Illustrations Become Wearable Works of Art

The great thing about Octavio Carlin's designs is that it is more than just clothing. His work blends his passion and knowledge for Art and fashion. These dresses are the perfect examples. The butterfly print looks like delicate watercolor impressions atop of luxurious silk fabrics. Check out the back detail on the first dress. What looks to be a simple silhouette is elevated with a subtle back detail that will catch anyone's attention. As for the 2nd dress, we truly adore the integration of stripes. And the midi length paired with the boxy silhouette is reminiscent of 1920's fashion, an era that Octavio is fond of.
